Invest in 2014!

‘Send your grain across the seas, and in time, profits will flow back to you.’ Ecclesiastes 11:1 (NLT)

I read Ecclesiastes 11 and I fell in love with it! Profound words abound in it, please kindly go through the entire chapter as soon as you can.

I want to share an insight with you today, my dear friend. A version of the natural law of harvest is ‘reap, sow’. The year is new and still very young, there is the danger of being complacent and not doing the right things on time, in time. Before long, the year gets halfway and then almost over. Before you get caught unawares by time’s move, I say, if you are looking to reap bountifully this year, you must invest in it! Reap, sow. How do I mean when I say invest?I mean doing good things that will bring back positive results and yield profits for you, both in cash and kind.

Preach to souls about Christ. Learn something new. Acquire a new skill. Get that degree. Plan that proposal. Do something good that will bring back something better. Set targets, maintain focus and succeed in achieving your set goals. Most of those who celebrate at the end of the year and count their blessings and achievements do not get there overnight. There was a process. They invested, waited and reaped. Investing in this year does not have to do with money only. You could invest your time, energy, focus and even much more.

If you carefully select that venture with God’s guidance, and you invest wisely, you will reap bountifully. If you have never done this before, that is, investing in a year, let this be the first. Change the story. Make this a year of note through diligent investment, even as the Lord helps you.

Above all, the most profitable place to invest into this year and always is the Kingdom of God. Win souls for the father. Pay your tithes, sow seeds of faith and give generous offerings. You will see the Saviour’s words in Matthew 6:33 manifest in your life if you do this faithfully. The father pays those who invest in his kingdom, please become one of them today.

Keep this in mind, ‘To make huge returns in 2014, you have to make huge investments in it, and the best place to invest into is the kingdom of God.’

God bless you more, beloved.

Stand firm

A letter to a fellow believer:

While reading through Luke 21 yesterday, I came across very profound tenets that all christians should hold very dear, part of which I found in verse 19 of that chapter.

‘By standing firm, you will win your souls.’ Luke 21:19 (NLT)
This could mean also mean that if one does stand firm, one could lose one’s soul. Also in church today, I came across a verse that I had to go searching for online later, it reads:

‘Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.’ 1 Peter 5:9 (NLT)
The instruction rings out clear again, ‘STAND FIRM’.

In this age where a lot of things are taken for granted when it comes to morality, it is very easy for one’s integrity to be compromised if one does not stand very firmly. In Luke 21:19, the Lord was admonishing us to stand firm in the face of trials when they come, especially in the form of physical assault. We should confess our faith to the end, not denying Christ at any time. Denial does not just come when we confess the wrong things, it shows up too when we purposefully lower the standards expected of us just to fit in the crowd, or get a raise at work or do just about anything ungodly to seemingly move up. If we are christians, we must stand firm in the face of all these and say ‘no’ to compromise. As in 1 Peter 5:9, the ‘stand firm’ therein is against the evil one, ‘the devil’. This has to do with the spiritual part, what goes on within. Our minds and the battle against iniquity. We should purge always. Once evil thoughts pop up, we should simply cancel them in the name of the Lord. Only when we do this can we endure to the end and come out as victors on that great day of reckoning.

Surely, the troubling times of wars and unpleasantries are coming, as the Lord has said. We need to be prepared. We should rejoice when these begin to happen because they are clear signs that our salvation is near, that our Lord’s return is nigh (reference: Luke 21:28). To prepare effectively, we have to do this:

“Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware, like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth.
Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.”  Luke 21:34-36 (NLT)

‘Only those who make it through, will be crowned victors. Only those stand firm will win their souls.

‘But the one who endures to the end will be saved.’ Matthew 24:13 (NLT)

Fellow believer, whatever you might be passing through, please know that you are not alone, the Lord is with you and so are the co-heirs on the way facing one challenge or the other. Only know that victory is sure because our Lord has said this:

”I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33 (NLT)

Stand firm, stay safe.

Martha’s faith: Standing in the gap.

Have you ever been in the position to stand in faith on someone else’s behalf, maybe to receive a word of prophecy or take an action of faith? If you had, I hope you stood your ground against doubt and claimed victory for your loved ones concerned. If you haven’t been in such stead yet, well,be ready to act on nothing but faith whenever you find yourself standing in the gap for someone else , as this could serve as their link to open doors that were seemingly locked and breakthrough to heights that were deemed unreachable.
A woman in the Bible gave an impressive display of faith in response to the saviour’s questions. Martha. Her brother was dead and she was mourning his passing yet she didn’t argue with the Lord nor question him about the possibility of her brother’s possible resurrection. She believed wholly and eventually witnessed an unusual miracle as documented in John 11:21-44. You too could know someone passing through difficult times and then words of prophecy for breakthrough comes through for them where you are. It is best that you receive the good words on their behalf in faith, as a channel for their needed miracle and not as an hindrance by roaming in doubt.  Your faith could save them. Your faith could be a that needed channel at that moment in time. Our God is real and he rewards those who seek him diligently because they have faith in him. Be a believer. Save a life.

Stay blessed,keep believing!

Confident in …………?

‘Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.’ Psalms 20:7 (ESV)

There are a lot things that give people confidence these days; money, properties, connections etc. Some get so caught up in their confidence in what they possess that they get vauthy towards the seemingly less privileged ones. They boast of a tomorrow that they are not sure of in the confidence of what they possess, forgetting that the ultimate and sovereign God is the best to be trusted in.

My friend, who or what do you place your confidence in? Money? The value could depreciate at any time. People? They could die at any time as well. Houses? They could be sunk by an earthquake. Your job? It could be taken away by the boss. Only God can not be affected by any circumstance. He controls all circumstances and he never fails his beloved. He is the best to be trusted in. No other person can be as reliable as he is.

Never forget that our God is a jealous God. He is that way because he loves and gives you attention and he wants you to do the same to him. Those other things that people trust in instead of him stand between him and them. He could have those things removed or destroyed at anytime. Therefore, never let anything get between you and God. Trust him with all your heart. Boast of nothing besides his power to save you. He will come through for you, please place your confidence in him.

With Christ, you shall succeed!

Stay victorious.

God knows what you think.

A note to my christian siblings who have stayed focused on God and have not intentionally yielded their minds to evil thoughts:

If you’ve ever found yourself with the wrong things on your mind or heard the wrong things being said in your thoughts, which you never intended, just believe that God knows what you really think. He sees your heart and knows your intentions. From personal experience, I can tell you that sometimes the wrong things pop up in one’s thoughts, even blasphemous things and then the devil comes around and starts to accuse one of wrongdoing, bringing along with the accusations feelings of guilt, condemnation and inadequacy, even though he knows that the thoughts are his. Christians, beware of this ploy from hell! God knows what you think! Never accept any thought that comes into your mind that was never intended by you. Whenever these come, rebuke them in the name of Jesus. They are darts from the enemies.

The nature of our warfare is very unique and the mind is the battlefield. So the devil keeps trying to  keep one’s mind occupied with sinful thoughts to either make one fall or wear one out. Apostle Paul said here that:

‘For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.’
Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)

Those evil thoughts that come up are amongst the unseen tools of the devil to bring one down spiritually. They should be resisted persistently. It could be very tiring wading off these thoughts if one were trying by one’s own strength. So, the best approach is to let the Holy Spirit help one. The first step to victory is not to accept the thought. The second is, not to dwell on the thought. The third is, to ask for cleansing by the Lord. This way, you are using the spiritual weapons of warfare that are available to you as a believer.

‘For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,’
2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV)

As a christian, you have advantages and the devil knows. The fact that he knows doesn’t mean you should lose them or let him take them. As a matter of fact, he can’t take these advantages from you without your consent one way or the other. So, don’t allow him. He knows that God loves and supports you. He knows that you are heaven-bound. And he knows that he can’t rid you of the advantages unless you get distracted. Those unintended evil thoughts are some of his ploys to exploit you. DON’T GIVE HIM A CHANCE. Once those thoughts prop up, nip them in the bud. Rebuke them instantly. Resist the devil very strongly. The verse below supports such resistance:

‘Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.’
James 4:7 (NKJV)

Jesus wants you to prosper and God wants you to enjoy eternal life. The love God has for you is too much to be swayed by what the devil does. Don’t be deceived. You have to keep your heart on Christ and let faith rule your mind as you study more and more of the living word of God. God knows what you think and he won’t judge you for thoughts that you never intended as long as you do not accept them.

Stay victorious. We will soon get to heaven.

The greater one.

One who has the backing of the most powerful Lord that could ever be needs not be frightened by any opposition whatsoever. As a believer, the Lord is with you and you need not be afraid of any party that is against you. The worst they can do is try. However, defeat is ultimately theirs as you hold on to Christ and trust him for protection.

It doesn’t matter what threats the enemy might have issued to you boastfully. It doesn’t matter what strategies they might be putting in place to orchestrate a downfall. Be reassured that God has the final say and he will always decide in your favour as his child. See the words of the Lord here:

‘Call your councils of war, but they will be worthless. Develop your strategies, but they will not succeed. For God is with us!”
Isaiah 8:10 (NLT)

Whatever your enemies do, confidently await their failure because God is with you. He is the greater one whom no one is as great as or greater than. He is the Almighty, the consuming fire. Whenever troubles seem to flow like an overwhelming river, don’t panic. Raise up your praise of the Almighty God and see him take charge of your battle as Jehovah, the man of war,the Lord of the battle. Your victory in God is inevitable because God can not be defeated.

Darkness is the antagonist of light. Your enemies belongs to the devil’s camp. The spirit at work in them antagonises the spirit of the living God that worketh in you. No matter how scary they appear, they can do you nothing with God by your side. Stand firm and see the victory that the Lord your God will give to you.  With Christ Jesus, you are victorious already as seen here:

‘But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.’
1 John 4:4 (NLT)

The greater one lives in you.

No turning back!

A letter to the redeemed,

Friend, please don’t practise seasonal followership of Christ. Be a full-time Christian. Whether good or bad, happy or sad, abundance or scarcity, whatever might pop up on the horizon, stay faithful to Christ Jesus. He gave his all for you, you should give your all to him as well.

‘At this point many of his disciples turned away and deserted him.’ John 6:66 (NLT)

At what points do you turn your back to the cross too? At what point do you take the garment of righteousness off and adorn the robes of worldliness? At what point is compromise excusable to you? Beloved, AT NO POINT should you forsake the love of Christ. At no point should you roll in the pit of sin. Let your motto be ‘HAPPILY A CHRISTIAN ANYWHERE,ANY TIME’. Never discard that trademark because it is your passport to eternal life.

Sometimes, the going gets rough, the weather could get stormy. Always remember that the Lord didn’t promise us funfare all the way home, because even he had challenges while on earth. But he has spoken here in John 16:33(NLT):

”I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

So friend, just hold on to the peace in Christ when those troubles come up and it seems as if a new dawn won’t break. Victory is surely ours at the end of the day because Jesus Christ has said that he has overcome the world and you know that his word is true. Also, believe God, the wait, the endurance and all that we go through while on earth will all be worth it when finally we get home and receive our rewards from the father. To buttress this, see what the Apostle Paul said here:

‘Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.’
Romans 8:18 (NLT)
My dear, please hold on. Never turn back. It will all be worth it in the end when our saviour we see. Some of those you call friends or even family, may be despising you for your faithfulness to Christ at the moment, hold on. You may be experiencing persecution and rejection in the course of your walk with the saviour at the moment, hold on. You are special. You are chosen. You are a co-heir with Christ.

‘Christ is enough’, a song by Hillsong United has some parts of its lyrics that go thus: ‘The cross before me, the world behind me, no turning back.’ Please live this statement and hold on to the end. Don’t turn back, you are on the right path.

I love you and Jesus loves you more.

A co-sojourner on the way to heaven.

Believe his prophet.

Friend, never be a doubter of God’s word spoken to you through his servant. If God has said it, he will do it(Examples: 2 Kings 7:1&2, 2 Chronicles 20:14-17)

Once you are sure of the prophet’s stand with God, which can be confirmed by the Holy Spirit within you and the fruits that the prophet manifests, never doubt the message or prophecy that the prophet delivers. The Lord is not pleased whenever his children doubt him, so please don’t be an errant child. The word released could be what you need to change your season, please key into it by faith and wait patiently for the manifestation of the promise.Let’s examine the declaration in the verse below:

Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.” 2 Chronicles 20:20 (NLT)

A premise that can be drawn from what King Jehoshaphat said in the verse above is that, belief in God helps one stand firm while belief in God’s prophets brings success.

As long as the Prophet is of God and you are convinced in your heart that he/she is, never let doubt rob you of the blessing that the Lord has promised you through them. Even as you go into this new week, open your heart to faith in the words spoken by the prophets of God.

Have a blessed ahead.

Beloved, our principal enemies are not seen physically, they are unseen entities from the realm of darkness(reference: Ephesians 6:14). Now, this forces do not care about one’s welfare. All they are interested in is bringing one down, making sure that glorious destinies get destroyed and purposes remain unfulfilled. However, you can decide what you want to do, whether you want to fight back or let them roam your world. Fortunately, with Christ on your side as a believer, you have an advantage. It’s however up to you to either use this advantage or not. The devil is their chief, making him our foremost enemy. 1 John 5:8 describes him as a lion whose mission is to destroy. Also,John 10:10 talks about the three-fold mission of the thief; to steal, kill and destroy; you can decide to ward off this thief by standing firm and staying too hot for him to touch. When you are too hot and too tough for him to handle, he backs off. When your life becomes a danger  zone to those entities from the realm of darkness, they retreat in defeat. My pastor does say something that I would like to put this way, ‘You can’t stop a bird from flying, but you can prevent it from perching on your head.’ In essence, don’t allow the enemies to encroach your life, be on fire!

Now, how do you stay hot?

It is important to say here that the ‘hot’ being referred to is spiritual fierceness, toughness and gallantry, not literal hotness. You stay spiritually hot by being a person of prayer. You have to be given to praying time after time. When your prayers get too hot to stand for the enemy, they flee.

The Lord used a parable in Luke 18 to point that ‘we ought to pray and not to faint’. In this spiritual  warfare, you have to stay alert and fit and this has to be done in the place of prayer. The Apostle Paul admonished in Ephesians 6:18 that: In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
Ephesians 6:18 (MSG)
He also said in another of his letters that: ‘Never stop praying.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NLT)
Beloved, this could be a wake-up call for you, please heed it. Our perfect role model, Jesus Christ, prayed extensively while on earth. You should imitate him. Become a person of prayer. Please protect that glorious destiny committed into your hands. Don’t let the enemy mess you up. You are already victorious in Christ Jesus, only persist in that victory as you pray ceaselessly and study the word diligently. Always remember that the enemy has no sympathy for you, therefore, be fierce in the place of prayer as you stand firm in the Lord your God. May you never be a prey even as you continue to pray.

It is important to note that praying does not mean that you are the one to fight the battle, rather you are making your intentions as a firebrand known and as well sending your requests to the Almighty God. The Lord is the one to grant victory as he crushes every opposition on your behalf . Plus, prayer, praise and worship is an unbeatable mixture! It is lethal to the enemy!

Please start today by praying to the Lord to empower you to pray as much as you should.

Don’t be a powerless person, be a prayerful person, be on fire!
