If we could exhaustively comprehend the depth of the love of Christ for us,we would know much more how wonderful, beautiful and forgiving our darling saviour is. There is no hatred whatsoever in him towards us. What he detests is sin,not us. And once sin is off the scene,we’d be able to begin to comprehend how great his love for us is. He left heaven and all the majesty of his throne and came to earth to pay the ultimate price for our sins. Humility was and is still so clearly personified in our role model,Jesus Christ, who chose to serve and save. We couldn’t help ourselves so he came to be our salvation and even now,he still is . He took the pains, the shame and paid off all our debts of sin. Nothing can ever get us the righteousness that Jesus has brought us. Hallelujah!
There is no wickedness in him. He is full of endless love. A major theme of his ministry was and will always be love because he is love himself. He doesn’t want anyone to perish. He is always there, waiting to be allowed in(Revelation 3:20). How glorious!
Romans 8:35-38 contains an amazing and interesting description of the love of Christ for us. A love that made him lay down his life to save us,his friends(Matthew 15:13). That love will never end,as long as we stay true and faithful to him. Even when we err,he does not stop loving us,he loves us still. We only need to retrace our steps in repentance so that we might not lose the life that we have in him.
My friend, always remember that no matter what may be,the love of Christ for us is greater than we know. So continue in him and never stop loving him for loving us first.
I’m writing this short poem to him in appreciation, you could leave yours below too in gratitude.
Mighty and royal,
to the cause of redemption, you were loyal
battered and bruised
to saving me,you remained true
No treasure could buy
what you paid for with your life
And in all of eternity
none could surpass you in humility
You are my all!
”I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27(NLT)
The lord left us an invaluable gift,in addition to salvation. He gave us peace of mind and heart.A peace that is very necessary if one is live a life free of trouble and fear.
Friend, are you in any way perturbed?I’m glad to let you know that as a christian, the peace you need has been made available long ago, before you were born. What you have to do is rededicate your life to the master and pray to him to fill you on the inside. And by faith, live in your heritage!
Walking confidently in the peace of mind and heart is a way of keeping the rest which the Lord gives and beating the stress of whatever burden that might come your way.
Remain blessed in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Parts of the lyrics of ‘Man of Sorrows’ by Hillsong United say:
‘Now my debt is paid, it is paid in full,by the precious blood, that my Jesus spilled, now the curse of sin, has no hold on me, whom the son sets free, oh is free indeed’
My friend, incomparable joy resides in the hearts of those who live in the freedom that the son of God gives! Until Jesus Christ, the son of God sets you free, you are not free.
‘So if the son sets you free, you are truly free.’ John 8:36(NLT)
There is freedom in no one except Christ Jesus. He is the only source of eternal freedom. Whoever lives in sin, lives in slavery, and until deliverance comes, that person remains a slave.Jesus Christ is the deliverer. He is that new life.He is also the giver of freedom that never ends,as long as you faithfully abide in him.If you are tired or weary, don’t panic, come to Jesus for strength. He won’t turn you away because his purpose of dying on the cross is to give everyone who believes in him eternal life.Come while there is still time. Get your freedom today.
Make up your mind to break away from sin and pray to Jesus Christ to help you. You could say this prayer: ‘Lord Jesus, please give me freedom.I don’t want to be a slave anymore.I want to be free in you. Please forgive me of my sins and make me new,in your mighty name.’ AMEN.Have in faith in God,my friend. After saying this prayer,if you believe that the son of God has set you free, then you are free indeed. Hallelujah!
‘Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” ‘ Matthew 11:28(NLT)
Sometimes, the weight of expectations and responsibilities might wear one out and if support doesn’t come quickly enough, one might buckle under the pressure.
However, Jesus has given us a guaranteed assurance of rest if we go to him. Therefore, we need to go to him and let him ease our burdens. With him, rest is sure and a more fulfilling life is possible.
Practical steps to get the ‘rest’:
1. Accept that you need help with your burdens.
2. Go to Jesus Christ and pray to him for help with your burdens(mention them).
3. (i)Confess and accept him as your Lord and personal saviour(for those not born-again yet).
(ii) Confess and reaffirm his Lordship over your life(for the redeemed).
4. Thank him for the answer to the prayer and praise him in advance, believing that he has done it for you.
5. Keep believing: Don’t lose faith in God.Never doubt that he has done it. Keep confessing your rest in him.
Your ceaseless faith in God will help you focus more on Jesus Christ, who gives rest, and not on your burdens. This way, you get to keep the rest and beat the stress.
God be praised!
‘The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.’
One great news is that while we as believers in Christ will live forever with our saviour in his kingdom, Satan’s existence is limited, his end is definite. Also, while we have an invaluable heritage in our awesome father, Satan surely has a damnable end. So, no matter he throws your way now, do not let him get you down, rather, focus on the glory ahead and keep praising God in advance.
Christ has overcome the world and surely in him,we are more than conquerors. The verse above talks about Satan being crushed and surely our victory will ultimately manifest.
While waiting for the return of the saviour, lets live in the peace of God,wholly obey the master’s instructions and gladly share the good news of the salvation in him.
Jesus is Lord and we are his! Hallelujah!
