Asking right (Part 1)

Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.
Romans 8:26 (MSG)

Only God knows exactly what we need and when the best time is to have them. As a loving father, he has our best interests at heart, that is why he chooses the right time to give us the right things. If our requests at certain times do not match what he has decided that we need at such times, we may not get what we requested for. Rather, the father either gives us what he knows we need at those times or keep the answers to our requests until the right time. So when we pray and answers seem not to be forthcoming, we shouldn’t panic or get discouraged, our father will do the very best for us.

So how do we ask for the right things at the right time?

Only God is perfect and it takes one as perfect as God is to precisely request for the right things. The Holy Spirit is as perfect as God is, so he is the best guide for us in prayer if we are to ask right, as believers and children of the father. As seen in the Romans 8:26 above, the Holy Spirit is our helper, he helps us make perfect requests. The more we yield to him leading us in prayer, the best our prayers become. Let’s not trust in our own understanding, but rely completely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit in prayers.

A practical way of doing this is to ask him to help us pray right and yield to his leading as we feel the urge to speak in tongues while praying. He is God and he knows best! This way, we are sure to always ask right.

Tenacious faith

My friend, please hold on to your faith in the Lord Christ with as much tenacity as possible. Let nothing sway you out of that glorious picture of blessed hope and perfect reunion with the father on getting to heaven. Make it a mission statement: I will make heaven,as the Lord helps me.

Let your faith be tenacious; know who you believe and follow him closest ever. In your faith, be able to declare, ‘Jesus it is you or you, no alternative, you are everything’. Let it not be a case of ‘Yes’ or ‘No’, let it always be a ‘YES’ or ‘YES’. Refer to what Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego said in Daniel 3:16-18 and take such a stance for God too. Make the father pleased to know that there is a child of his out there who is ready to stand for him whatever might be.

‘Oceans(where feet may fail)’, a song by Hillsong United has some encouraging lyrics that go thus: ‘Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me, Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, and my faith will be made stronger, in the presence of my saviour.’ My friend, whatever you might be going through, never doubt the truth that with Jesus, all is well!

He gave his all for you on Calvary, please have all the faith you can in him. He is Lord forevermore. Please spend time in his presence today, give him sincere worship and reaffirm your faith in him. He will soon be back to take us home.

Hallelujah!

The world’s sin: Don’t be caught in it!

”The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me.” John 16:9(NLT)

In the message(MSG) translation, the world is referred to as ‘the godless world’. A world that does not honour the most high, does not live in obedience to his word and does not believe in him. Not believing in Jesus Christ is their basic sin, my friend, pls don’t be caught in it.

Situations that could test your faith may arise, but be strong and never allow doubt to set in! Believe Jesus Christ! Believe everything that he says he is! Remember, he is God and God doesn’t lie. Just press on and do not waver in your belief.

The godless word’s sin is that they do not believe in the son of God, Jesus Christ, and regardless of how ‘so-called logical’ their arguments could sound, do not believe anything contrary to what the Lord has told us in his words. Rather, reinforce your faith through more in-depth study of the word, intensive prayers and fellowship with the brethren( tomorrow is Sunday, a great opportunity to fellowship with the brethren! Please be in Church).

The time of the Lord’s return is near, please stay stronger than ever. Keep looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith(reference: Hebrews 12:2)

HIS JOY COMES! : MY TESTIMONY

Hello friend, I am very excited and happy to share this with you. I hope this encourages your faith and help you keep believing even against all odds.

Last week, I found out that my cousin’s laptop was missing. We(I and some other persons concerned) searched the house and its environ for the laptop, all to no avail. Ever since the search began, I had been very disturbed on the notes of accountability and responsibility. However, I kept trusting God for the best.  I knew and still know that he would never leave me because I am his. His love for me is everlasting and his peace has he blessed me with. So, although, there was an unpleasant circumstance existing on the surface, faith in God was deep within me.

The post about the Joy of the Lord coming was intended to encourage everyone who read it with faith, myself included because really, the period of the search that didn’t yield positive results was like a dark night filled with uncertainty. I prayed to my father who answers prayers, my pastor also prayed with me at a different time and I kept hoping for the best. Interestingly, my pastor had led prayers on restoration during a monthly revival held last week  and most definitely I really needed divine restoration in the circumstance I found myself in.

Hallelujah! To the glory of God,marvellous joy eventually came through yesterday because the laptop was found after six days of search and suspense! It was unlawfully taken by someone who worked at my aunt’s residence as a security guard. He admitted to having committed the theft after he had been dealt with by his superiors and law enforcement agents. The laptop was later found in his house and brought back to us,thus, solving the mystery and bringing an end to the emotional stress that had arisen due to the sudden disappearance of the computer.

My friend, I didn’t foresee this challenge and when it came as suddenly as it did, it was very disturbing. However, God has the best of plans for me. So even though the circumstance was not good, God is always good and I knew his love was and is still always there for me.  He saw me through. If you have faith in him and remain in Christ, he will see you through as well. He said in Isaiah 49:15(NLT) : ”Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!”

He won’t forget you. He keeps his word and surely, his joy will come through for you.  Be faithful to him always. Hold on and press on with Christ as your guide. He’s able!

HIS JOY COMES!

My friend, don’t be discouraged! As long as you are with Christ, your joy is certain. Challenges will come, but don’t worry, you have the strongest personality ever to be on your side.JESUS IS LORD!

‘For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning.’ Psalm 30:5(NLT)

The stretch of your challenges might look unending, however, trust God because his joy will come. Your challenges will end, only God’s blessings in the various ways they come will never end. He sees,he knows ,he cares and he loves you.

The Lord said in Isaiah 49:15: ”Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!”

Our God is faithful. He doesn’t forsake his beloved. He cares for them. As long as you are in Christ, he loves you and will never forsake you. He won’t forget you! So press on in faith and hold on to hope, keep your eyes on Jesus and the darkness will disappear. He is light and he can’t be conquered!

‘He knows my name’, a song by Israel Houghton, has some lyrics that go thus:

I have a father,he calls his own

He’ll never leave me,no matter where I go

He knows my name, he knows my every thought

He sees each tear that falls and hears me when I call

So,my dear friend,he knows your name, he cares for you and his joy will surely come. Stay with God, he will keep his word.
