Make the higher resolutions

new-years-resolutions

New year resolutions are so popular! Failing to keep them beyond the first few days of the new year is also commonplace. Why do these resolutions fail? How can this failing be prevented?

When resolutions are made from the human perspective and with reliance on human strengths, they are within the context of limitation. Before long, many of such resolutions fail. Believers are not to make resolutions this way. We are to rely on our Lord for the wisdom to make the right resolutions and to keep such resolutions!

John 15:5 (NKJV): “…for without Me you can do nothing.”

Believer, do not make resolutions from your own mindset, with reliance on your human strength (Proverbs 3:5). They won’t exist for long. So, before you make a long list of new ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ this year, check your heart and be sure you are making the decisions in sync with the Lord.

This new year, make your resolutions from God’s perspective- from the context of the WORD, the source of WISDOM for believers! Read the word, understand it, apply it to your life, and make resolutions from it. That is how to make the higher resolution.

First, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 4:4 (NKJV):

‘…’Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'”

This highlights the importance of the Word in our lives as believers! Actually, the WORD is our life!

Also, note the assurance of success that comes from applying the word to life situations in Joshua 1:8 (NKJV):

‘This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.’

Having made your resolution from the perspective of the Word, you can then rely on GOD’S STRENGTH to keep the resolution, not ‘your strength’. God’s strength is unlimited! Human strength has limits. So when resolutions are made based on the strength of man, such can’t be kept beyond the limit of human strength. When the mortal strength ends, such resolutions end as well.

However, when God’s strength is your source of power for keeping your resolution, you can’t fail! God’s strength will take you to higher levels, with greater speed, and lasting impact!

‘But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.’ Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

In essence, the higher resolution is that which is drawn from the word of God, with reliance on God’s strength to keep it! So, instead of one becoming tired, the strength to keep the resolution is renewed daily! Glory to God!

Make the higher resolutions. Make your decisions from the Word. Rely on God’s strength. Succeed without end in 2016!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

ENJOY IT! IT’S A GIFT OF 366 GLORIOUS DAYS!

THANK YOU, LORD

2013-05-14-thank-you

Why you love us this way, we will never fully comprehend while we are still on earth

We can only keep discovering the drive behind your Love

Till we come home to dwell with you in eternity

A Love so bold, the cross couldn’t scare it

A Love so strong, the whips couldn’t break it

A Love so deep, our hatred couldn’t cover it

This year, Lord, you’ve been watching for us while we slept

Making sure the temperature was right and our bodies found rest

You rejoiced every time a sinner came home

Still you rejoice

How the Lord of creation is so interested in the affairs of humans

We’ll never fully know while we are still humans

Each day of this year has been a gift from you

Full of Life, Grace and Truth for us

Months after months, the stream of your favour didn’t stop flowing

Good health was a norm, sickness could not crush us

Because you had crushed it!

You were Jehovah Jireh indeed, giving us pleasant surprises

Making ways where there were none

Jesus, 2016 is waiting already

With confidence, we will approach it

Because we know that you have gone through the length and breadth of it

Putting blessings, joy, favour and all spiritual blessings in every minute of every day

Thank you for not giving up on us

Thank you for waiting on us

Thank you for serving us in Love

You are the reason why we are who we are today

Righteous, justified, free, favoured, strengthened

Blessed beyond comprehension

Thank you, Lord

Love came to serve!

LOVE ALL

From day one, you knew that you were going to die
Yet you didn’t leave
You didn’t return to your glory and leave us in our misery
You, with a passionate heart, sought the lost sheep
Shouting the words of repentance
With Love never seen, never felt before

Even now, you quietly wait for the sheep to return
Looking forward eagerly to their run for your embrace
Your blood is still fresh
The stripes on your back forever healing
You have the greatest name
Yet you wouldn’t be angry if we called you without a title

Lord, you are truly divine
You don’t seek for us to come to you qualified
Instead, you qualify us, bearing every cost
Love, you’re indeed the beautiful one
I love you,Lord!
Yes, my soul screams!
At Christmas, I simply say ‘Thank you for coming to die’
Thank you,Lord!

Synergy in Worship

image

Bless the Lord , O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!’ Psalm 103:1(NKJV)

When you are extolling the greatness of God, is your mind in the moment? Does your whole being participate in the worship of the living God whenever you offer him worship?

Your voice should amplify what your heart is saying. Your Hands should resonate what your soul is expressing.  True worship is like the coordination in an orchestra. Everything done must be for a unified purpose. The purpose of worship is to testify to the supremacy of God! That purpose must be understood and aimed at!

Now and always, keep in mind that the worship of God must be a totally immersive experience for you. He deserves it! In the place of worship, everything else must be secondary to the offering of praise of the Most High being done! Remember, God has no equals. At the point of worshipping him, he deserves undivided attention.

This type of synergized worship is not possible by mortal efforts. You need the Holy Spirit’s help. He has the best understanding of the father’s worship! Tell him about your desire for sincere and synergized worship. Submit to his leadership and see how he helps you to transform your worship of the King!

Amen! Glory to God forever! To him be all the praise and adoration forevermore!

Believer,keep thriving! Keep worshipping!

Be Dynamic

image

‘The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.’ Genesis 1:2 (NKJV)

Believer, your father is dynamic! See, in the text above, his spirit is said to have hovered(moved) over the face of the waters! That connotes power and mobility. The motion of the spirit of God portrays his dynamic nature.

He is not stale. He is fixated. Although his nature does not change,  what he says and does changes! He can do the same things in new ways never thought of or imagined by humans!

See what the Prophet Jeremiah had to say here:

‘Through the Lord ’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They  are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.’ Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV)

His compassion are new every morning! He is called the beginning and the end! By his might, the entirety of eternity exists! All changes do not happen without him knowing about them.

He is up-to-date, up-to-speed, and even proactive. You should be like him! Do not hold on to the past as if that where God is. God is in the present(Remember, he is called Omnipresent). Yes, he can reach the past, however, he does not reside in the past. Every new day meets God in existence! Hallelujah!

In your daily living, you must stay tuned to what God has to say in the present. He does not speak to his beloved and then leave them in the dark. He leads them(John 10:4). He dwells with them(Matthew 28:20). He teaches them (Jeremiah 33:3, Acts 1:8).

‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.’
Romans 8:14 (NKJV)

Please take note that Apostle Paul said ‘….as many as are led…’, not ‘as many as were led…’. The ‘are’ signifies currency, continuity, immediacy; it connotes a continous leading.
That also highlights the dynamic nature of being a believer! Continuously, you must led! That’s how you must live daily.

My question for you is, ‘Have you received words from the Lord today?’

One way of receiving from the Lord, daily, is Bible Study. You must study the Bible daily. God speaks to his children through the Bible. He gives new revelations. These revelations can help you to be dynamic just as he is!

In this month, please live in the present with God! Follow him daily. Endeavour to know what he has to say to you at every moment.

Great is our God! Dynamic is he, so should we!

Amen!

Before the Manifestation

image

God cannot be rushed. He also does not joke with his promises. He uses his word with purpose. In addition,  he does not waste anyone’s time, including yours.

Whatever God has promised you is true. The manifestation will come   in due season.  Wait for it. Wait on him.

There is always an ideal way to do something. Today, I want to share with you on how to wait for the manifestation of God’s promise, drawing lessons from the conduct of an ideal model of faith, Abraham.

‘He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.’
Romans 4:20-21 (NKJV)

Four things are to be noted, here, from Abraham’s life as he waited for the manifestation of God’s promise.

1. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief:

Unbelief is not of God;it is not of the spirit. It should not be seen in the life of the new creature that is born of the spirit of God. Once you have received God’s promise, stay rooted in faith, rejoicing, because of the fact that he that has promised is faithful!
When you have faith, you won’t waver. You will be stable. You will be at rest. This rest will come from an assurance that God who has promised is able! Amen!

2. He was strengthened in faith:
Faith can be reinforced or eroded. When the action of the entity in whom faith is placed negates expectations, faith is affected negatively. Our God is stable! He is the same through all ages! His faithfulness is forevermore! Your faith in him should be a constant factor. No external variables should affect the state of your rest in the living one who has promised. Reading the word and meditating  on a verse that is very applicable to your situation can strengthen your faith. Also, sharing experiences with other believers can also help you stand firm in the assurance of God’s faithfulness. Hebrews 11:6 makes it clear that we need faith to please God. As you wait on him, do not doubt him. He does not lie! Amen!

3. He gave glory to God:
It takes faith for one to praise God for what is yet to manifest physically. Romans 1:17 says that the just shall live by faith. That faith then spurs expectation, which in turn spurs thanksgiving. It is a lifestyle of the spirit man! Remember, how our lord fed thousands of people with five loaves and two fish? He gave thanks first(which can also be considered as giving glory to God), then the increase manifested!(John 6:11) Believer, even now, begin to give glory to God for those things that you are expecting from him! Glory to him! Amen!

4. He was fully convinced that God was able to fulfil his promise:
Ephesians 3:20 contains Paul’s testimony about God’s ability to meet our expectations, even exceedingly!
Jeremiah 32:27 also features a question from the Lord on his own unlimitedness! No promise in the world can be surer than God’s. No ability exists in the world without the Lord’s knowledge. Jesus said in Matthew 28:18 that all authority in heaven and on earth are his! How able can he be!

Abraham received the manifestation of God’s promise to him, you can too! Simply, stay connected to the vine(Jesus Christ),and keep the four things discussed above in mind.

Congratulations in advance! I look forward to hearing your testimony!

RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A GIFT!

image

Righteousness is a gift to believers! Although we did not have to pay for it, it came at a price! Jesus paid that price at the cross so that we could get it absolutely free. This gift is not tied to terms and conditions that require our inputs or works to make God give it to us. Jesus died and acquired it for us and has made it available for free! We only need to receive it by faith(Romans 3:22, Philippians 3:9)!

Again,it is a gift that has been paid for! So, we should never try to work to earn it! It is already ours, bought and delivered by the blood of the lamb! Faith should be our ‘receiving decvice’ for the gift, so precious, so free!’

Till the end of time, we can never pay for God’s righteousness by ourselves.  NO WAY. Can sin purchase righteousness? God forbid. Can darkness purchase light? Never. Our old nature(the adamic nature) carried sin and darkness. That nature needed a change that it could not afford, so Jesus stepped in as the mediator, making peace via his death to end the division that sin had brought between God and man, and purchasing righteousness for us(Ephesians 2:16, 1 Peter 3:18)! Hallelujah!

Humans that were cut-off from God can now boldly approach him without fear or condemnation(Hebrews 4:16)!

Remember, it is a gift! You do not have to pay for it! You are as righteous as Christ is once you have received the gift by faith! By human standards, we can never be as righteous as Jesus is. This is because before Christ came to die for us, we were already fallen and condemned(Romans 3:23). By his death and resurrection, he lifted us to his status of absolute righteousness! So as he is, so are we in this world(1 John 4:17)! Amen! We should therefore dance, rejoice and make joyful noise to God, for this great gift, throughout our lives!

Christ’s great love for us propelled him to obey the father and willingly die for us, his friends(John 15:13)!
John 1:12 did not talk about people working to receive the status of being God’s children. All they had to do was believe! All we have to do too is BELIEVE! Thank God, we, who are born again, have believed!

We must keep believing that Jesus is the son of God who has brought us righteousness that we do not have to pay for! He has given us the best gift of all time! Hallelujah!

This wonderful gesture of righteousness which has been fully paid for should always be in our minds and make us worship the father in Spirit and in truth daily!

We must share this good news of righteousness being a gift with our friends and loved ones who are yet to know about it. We must tell them that they can also receive this gift by faith in Christ Jesus!

As Christ is, so are we!

Amen!

CALLED FOR GOOD

image

‘And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.’ Romans 8:28 (KJV)

Those who worship the Lord in the spirit and in truth do not worship him for material rewards. No. They worship him for something more; something deeper, higher and glorious! In essence, they are Jesus-centred.

Believer, your salvation is Jesus-centred and there must your focus remain! Hebrews 12:2 gives us a cue to keep looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith! In him, we have everything made of the best and for our best. Jesus has our best as top priority at all times! So, we must simply, rest, keep resting and never stop resting in him!

He has not called us into a life of uncertainty where worry and sorrow torment. No. He has called us into rest(Matthew 11:28), divine peace(John 14:26), and joy in fullness(John 15:11).  Amazing!

So, with him, all things will DEFINITELY turn out good – so good in a dimension that mortal minds can’t completely conceive! He is our way and in him is eternal life(1John 5:11,12), grace, and truth(John 1:14)! Hallelujah!

Jesus is love, and the best has he planned for us!

Glory to God!

WE ARE RIGHTEOUS IN CHRIST!

image

‘Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.’ Galatians 5:1 (MSG)

As humans, our bodies need blood to stay alive. As believers, our life in Christ needs faith. Just like oxygen is needed for breathing, so is faith needed for righteous living!

Jesus has called us to a life of righteousness in him, a life that has brought us into right standing with God. This righteousness is not based on our works, achievements, or philanthropy. No. It is based on faith alone; faith that accepts that Jesus is the only channel to truly pleasing God.

Human effort at good living cannot get one eternal life. No matter how hard humans try to earn a status of righteousness, without accepting Christ Jesus, they cannot. Only by faith, which brings us righteousness in CHRIST, can we please God(Hebrews 11:6)! No matter how badly a person has lived, they simply become righteous once they accept Christ. Human logic cannot decipher how that happens. Still, that is God’s way of saving us through Christ. He said that his ways are different from man’s(Isaiah 55:8). Furthermore, his method of salvation is very different from humans’ perception of how to be saved from eternal condemnation.

Many people think it is by doing ‘good things’ that one can please God and get into heaven. Jesus has said that no one is good except God(Mark 10:18). He said that he is the only way to the father(John 14:6). Still, he said that knowing him brings eternal life(John 17:3). So, friends, you see, only by faith can we become and remain righteous! That faith in Christ is what should give us rest that we are eternally saved, and that rest should also really be evident in the way we live;how we dwell in the peace that transcends all human understanding(Hebrews 11:4, John 14:27)! Hallelujah!

Even as we start a new month, we, who are born again, should remain in that place of righteousness by faith! We should always keep our eyes on Christ and stay in him! We must not accept any doctrine that tells us to try to work to be righteous. That is a doctrine of slavery. In Christ, are we completely righteous, today and forever! He is the author and the finisher of our faith(Hebrews 12:2), our proof of righteousness, our eternal friend and the soon coming King!

This good news of righteousness in Christ by faith, is what we should and must share with others who are yet to know the way- Jesus Christ.

Forever, God be praised! Amen!

Faith and Trends:Speech

image

While it is good to be able to relate with people from different backgrounds, in our bid to have a relationship with them and tell them about the saviour, we must however be careful not to contradict, by our conduct, what we are trying to preach.

While reaching out to others with the message of love, we must stay in the light. (Remember, without him,The Light, we can do nothing!John 15:5)

Specifically, I will address speech-choice of words,here.

Christians, it is a must for us to avoid swear words, immoral topics, and colloquial terms that do not glorify God.

It might be the nature of man (the adamic nature) to use such words,it is however not the nature of the Spirit which has given birth to the new us! (John 3:5)

Expressions like ‘He is a bad guy, or she is the baddest, etc(Bad and baddest here, used as compliments’ should not be found in our speech repertoire. Such are not representations of who we are or what we think in God!
This is especially important as people watch us as mirrors of the saviour. (Remember how the disciples were first named Christians?Acts 11:26)

We are ambassadors of Christ from whom the world should learn how to speak right and live right. (Of course, we learn from Christ ourselves!)

Your guiding principle should be ‘Would Jesus say this?’ If the clear answer is ‘No’, then don’t say it.

It is not our deeds that make us righteous, true! Jesus is our righteousness! He has however advised us in Matthew 5:16 to do this:

‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.’ Matthew 5:16 (KJV)

Therefore, our faith in Christ will help us bear good fruit that others around us can behold- good works, edifying speech, and righteous living!

So,even as you reach souls for the father, keep the faith,  watch the speech, and shine on!

God has blessed you with all spiritual blessings!  Hallelujah!

PLEASE SHARE WITH FAMILY, FRIENDS AND EVERYONE YOU CAN!
