Sweep The Church

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

Sweep the church, not the floors, but the hearts of those therein, that every heart with uncleanness might be stimulated to reach for repentance!

Living a life of pretence does no one any good! Our hearts must be  closer to God than our clothes are close to our skins!

If we say we love God, our conduct and thoughts must reflect that. Our lips should be gateways that reveal what our hearts feels for God.
The church should be one house filled with people whose hearts are cleaner than the physical cleanliness seen within the church!

Sweep the church! It is a cry for us all to check our hearts and put our hands into God’s palms, to be led through his perfect will for us.

From the pulpit to the pew, the church must be clean!
Oh, truly, the world in which we live is besought by immorality! Surely, still, can we be a different breed; a generation for God, the 1 Peter 2:9 nation!

The gospel must be preached within and outside the church in truth and power, so that its cleansing ability can wash every filthy heart that hears it, making them whither than snow and habitable for God.

The hearts of the members of the church must be ready and right for the King of Kings always. Our minds must be set on him and the heavenly treasures that he has gone to prepare for us.

If we do and make ourselves clean, then, let’s expect a new move of God that will make knees bow and joy resonate from the depth of every right heart in the church!

God wants to move in our midst! He wants to fellowship with us! He wants to pour out his spirit, just like Joel 2:28 says:

“Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.” Joel 2:28 (NLT)

However, he won’t move where sin exists or pretence presides.

He wants a clean house. That clean house, always, should be the church!

God bless the church, and may the gates of hell stay defeated by the power of Jesus forever and ever. Amen.

Stay holy. Preach Jesus Christ.
