‘Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?’ Romans 8:35 (NLT)
God’s love for us is deep, so is his forgiveness!
When God forgives one, he forgives and forget. He does not need the record of your wrongs, so he does not keep it.
He is more interested in you living like him, doing all the wonderful things he has planned for you. He takes no pleasure in showing you how guilty you are.
He is Love, and Love forgives totally. He loves you much more than you can ever know while you are on earth. His compassion for you is genuine and intense. He knows that you cannot help yourself, so he has offered you his help. He knows that you cannot attain righteousness by human effort.
He needs you to believe. Yes, he wants you to access his abundant grace by faith. Do not try to understand his forgiveness on the basis of human logic. Instead, submit to the Holy Spirit and let him take you to the unlimiting level of freedom that comes from the forgiveness that God gives.
John was so sure so of the nature of God’s forgiveness, as his statement in 1 John 1:9 shows. Human forgiveness, by default, does not include forgetting.
God’s forgiveness is divine! It comes with a total wipe of one’s records of wrongs.
When one receives divine forgiveness, one gets a new start, as made available by grace;just like the prodigal son received his father’s forgiveness in Luke 15:11-32.
“I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.” Isaiah 43:25 (NLT)
That’s how the forgiveness of the God that we serve is! How deep! How complete!
Whenever you approach God for forgiveness, please do so with the assurance that he will forgive you.
Simply, because he loves you-while you were yet a sinner, Christ died for you!
Always remember that we did not earn God’s grace, he gave it to us, through Jesus Christ. So does he give us his forgiveness too, not because we deserve it, but because he loves us!
Glory to God!
