Resounding Obedience

Proverbs 13:22 says that a great man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children. In essence, a great person’s influence transcends his or her own lifetime. Even when physical death has taken such a person away, the influence of his or his existence is still felt!

Such was Abraham’s life, as this text shows:

“I will cause your descendants to become as numerous as the stars of the sky, and I will give them all these lands. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed. I will do this because Abraham listened to me and obeyed all my requirements, commands, decrees, and instructions.” Genesis 26:4-5 (NLT)

Please note that part that reads ‘…because Abraham listened to me and obeyed all my requirements…’
Isaac reaped the fruits of his father’s obedience to God. His father’s obedience to the Almighty was a resounding one that echoed even after he had left this world. For that, Isaac was immensely blessed, so much so, that he reaped a bumper harvest of a hundredfold during a famine(Genesis 26:12).

In your walk with God, what seeds will you sow for your children to reap?

Whatever you do, please, always keep posterity in mind- consider the potential effects of your actions and choices on your children already born or yet unborn.

Abraham sowed a seed of resounding obedience and Isaac, his son, enjoyed the Lord’s goodness for it.

Plant the best seeds that you can while you live! Leave behind a godly inheritance!

Understand The Assignment

‘Now the lord said to Samuel, “You have mourned long enough for Saul. I have rejected him as king of Israel, so fill your flask with olive oil and go to Bethlehem. Find a man named Jesse who lives there, for I have selected one of his sons to be my king.” 1 Samuel 16:1 NLT

Our God is a God of specificity! His instructions are specific to purposes. His visions are specific to ends. His vessels are specific to function.

He has a very clear reason for making you the way you are. He also has defined motivations for every assignment he asks you to do.

Your duty is to understand the mission before you act! You must get the vision of what God is asking you to undertake. The understanding you get will help you to make the best use of whatever God gives to you for your assignment.  It will keep you going when you feel the most tired bodily. It will help you remain confident even when others scorn the path you are travelling.

The chief source of the instructions understand them the most! God is the chief giver and he knows the instructions best. So, whenever you are not clear on what the mission of your divine assignment, stop to ask the Lord.

Let his communication with Jeremiah in Jeremiah 33:3 reassure you that he will definitely reveal to you what will guide and help you, as you seek to obey him and fulfil the purpose that he has laid out for you.

God bless you richly!

Stay in purpose!

Sweep The Church

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

Sweep the church, not the floors, but the hearts of those therein, that every heart with uncleanness might be stimulated to reach for repentance!

Living a life of pretence does no one any good! Our hearts must be  closer to God than our clothes are close to our skins!

If we say we love God, our conduct and thoughts must reflect that. Our lips should be gateways that reveal what our hearts feels for God.
The church should be one house filled with people whose hearts are cleaner than the physical cleanliness seen within the church!

Sweep the church! It is a cry for us all to check our hearts and put our hands into God’s palms, to be led through his perfect will for us.

From the pulpit to the pew, the church must be clean!
Oh, truly, the world in which we live is besought by immorality! Surely, still, can we be a different breed; a generation for God, the 1 Peter 2:9 nation!

The gospel must be preached within and outside the church in truth and power, so that its cleansing ability can wash every filthy heart that hears it, making them whither than snow and habitable for God.

The hearts of the members of the church must be ready and right for the King of Kings always. Our minds must be set on him and the heavenly treasures that he has gone to prepare for us.

If we do and make ourselves clean, then, let’s expect a new move of God that will make knees bow and joy resonate from the depth of every right heart in the church!

God wants to move in our midst! He wants to fellowship with us! He wants to pour out his spirit, just like Joel 2:28 says:

“Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.” Joel 2:28 (NLT)

However, he won’t move where sin exists or pretence presides.

He wants a clean house. That clean house, always, should be the church!

God bless the church, and may the gates of hell stay defeated by the power of Jesus forever and ever. Amen.

Stay holy. Preach Jesus Christ.

The Depth of His Forgiveness

‘Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?’ Romans 8:35 (NLT)

God’s love for us is deep, so is his forgiveness!

When God forgives one, he forgives and forget. He does not need the record of your wrongs, so he does not keep it.

He is more interested in you living like him, doing all the wonderful things he has planned for you. He takes no pleasure in showing you how guilty you are.

He is Love,  and Love forgives totally. He loves you much more than you can ever know while you are on earth. His compassion for you is genuine and intense. He knows that you cannot help yourself, so he has offered you his help. He knows that you cannot attain righteousness by human effort.

He needs you to believe. Yes, he wants you to access his abundant grace by faith. Do not try to understand his forgiveness on the basis of human logic. Instead, submit to the Holy Spirit and let him take you to the unlimiting level of freedom that comes from the forgiveness that God gives.

John was so sure so of the nature of God’s forgiveness, as his statement in 1 John 1:9 shows. Human forgiveness, by default, does not include forgetting.
God’s forgiveness is divine! It comes with a total wipe of one’s records of wrongs.

When one receives divine forgiveness, one gets a new start, as made available by grace;just like the prodigal son received his father’s forgiveness  in Luke 15:11-32.

See this:
“I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.” Isaiah 43:25 (NLT)

That’s how the forgiveness of the God that we serve is! How deep! How complete!

Whenever you approach God for forgiveness, please do so with the  assurance that he will forgive you.

Simply, because he loves you-while you were yet a sinner, Christ died for you!

Always remember that we did not earn God’s grace, he gave it to us, through Jesus Christ. So does he give us his forgiveness too, not because we deserve it, but because he loves us!

Glory to God!

Stay liberated!

Have Faith in God, Not in The Details

“I am the lord , the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me? – Jeremiah 32:27 NLT

When God tells you something- either through his servants, his word (the Bible), or direct revelation to you, believe him!

Yes, believe him totally! Even when the details of his plan for what he is about to do in your life are not known, simply believe him.

Like a little child who gets excited at the promise of a new toy, be excited too, when you receive God’s promise.

If God has said it, then you have no reason to doubt it! Your duty is to receive the promise by faith, give God elaborate thanks, and wait in joy!

God does not always give the details of what he is about do. The fact that he tells you about it in the first place is enough honour which you should be grateful for! Once you take the first step with him in faith, you will get the revelation of deeper information with time.

Only a person who has faith in God can believe him in such a manner;like Abraham, who was told to go a foreign land of which God didn’t give him much detail.

Your faith should be in God, not in the details. The person of God is enough proof that what he has said will come to pass.

Simply trust him!

You may have doubted him in the past because you didn’t have much details about his plan for you, don’t worry. Simply, humbly, and honestly ask God for forgiveness.

As you go on in life, please, prepare your mind to accept the promise of God, even when the details seem sketchy; even when the content of the promise seems impossible.

Believe, and see how great your God is.

It is not about the details,  it is about God who has said it.

He is truth and his words are forever true!

Keep believing!

Be on God’s Team

‘Then he said to me, “This is what the lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the lord of Heaven’s Armies.’ – Zechariah 4:6 NLT

Don’t  ever try to see how far you can go on your own before you invite God to help you. The results could be catastrophic!

Don’t try to be a self-created success, instead, be a God – created success.

Here is the breaking news: YOU CAN’T MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN.

So, don’t waste time trying to do so.

Avoid the heartaches and pains of failure and regret that comes from being stranded in dire straits, after every resource is gone!

Don’t be spent before you remember that God’s invitation to you is still valid and active. Take a deep breath and remember that you have the best team mate waiting to giving you a winning pass.

God is waiting. His invitation is selfless. He wants to help you. He wants to give you his rest that will help you to accomplish amazing success!

‘Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’- Matthew 11:28 NLT

You might have prepared;done research,  formed alliances and drawn up strategies. Good. However, without God, planning will accomplish nothing. So, always make it a priority to invite God into every project.

Make it a motto: I either move with God, or not at all’

I tell you the truth, walking with God in every project is the deepest secret to outstanding success!

So, don’t stray from him; never forget to receive his pass(help).

It is neither by your might nor your efforts, but by the spirit of the living God!

When you are on God’s team,  you can never be a loser.

Glory to God!

Victory is sure!

Go higher!

Don’t Hide

‘If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.’  1 John 1:9 KJV

When Adam sinned, he hid from God, so did his wife, and so do other humans,a lot of times, when sin occurs. It is ,therefore, a human habit to try to stay away from God when sin occurs.

This habit is,however, not beneficial. Who can hide from God?

When one commits a sin, God sees it immediately. He knows. It is a very futile mission to try to hide transgressions from the Lord. He is omniscient!

Again, who can hide from the Lord? NO ONE.(See Jeremiah 23:24)

Should you commit a wrong, do not hide from God. He is the only one who can help you get back on the right track.

Satan can’t help you. He could even encourage you to hide or stay away from God’s presence, because he knows that God’s love heals. He knows that God will forgive you. He knows that when you are forgiven, you are safe, and he doesn’t want you to be safe.

He wants you scared, uncertain and dejected, which will happen if you hide. But if you come out into God’s presence, honest and repentant, God will forgive you, just as 1 John 1:9 assures.

If you have been shying away from God, thinking you are hiding from him, you have not been hiding at all. Of a truth, trying to stay away from God makes one vulnerable to satanic attacks.

Come to God today, confess your sins, humbly ask for forgiveness and believe God for redemption.

He restores the lost! He heals the repentant of the spiritual infirmity that accompanies sin and, truly,he cares about you!

Don’t try to hide from him, embrace his love!

Stay blessed!

From Glory to Glory

‘Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,’
Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)

It is always important to take the first step. Then the next. Then more steps, in faith, confidence and boldness in the might of our great God.

Fear tries to hold down the believer. Doubt tries to distract the Saint.  So many theories of why success is not attainable begin to pop up in the mind; so many that they could knock one off the heights of happiness into the depth of despair. But the Apostle Paul told us already to hold up the shield of faith, and fend off the fiery darts of the enemy(Ephesians 6:16). This is what we should always do! Holding up the shield as gallant soldiers in the army of the Lord, standing strong and ready, advancing as our commander – in – chief,  Jesus Christ, spurs us on to victory.

Christ in us is the hope of glory(Colossians 1:27)! We therefore live in the line of glory. And as we move with God by faith, we do move from the glory that his presence brings to even higher realms of glory in him!

We do not move from glory to darkness! We do not move from glory to despair! We move from glory to higher glory; to greater glory;to brighter glory in the Lord, our God,  the commander of the armies of heaven!

We must live in this realisation always. We must never accept any counsel that negates the truth that our future is glorious, because, with God on our side, the glory is never in doubt.

We must keep confessing that truth: ‘I move from glory to glory.’
We must keep seeing that vision of glory. We must keep thanking the Lord for the glory.

As we move on in this month, and the remainder of our lives, we must know that our God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above, all we could ask of him, and always, we move from glory to glory!

God be praised!

Stay in the glory of the LORD!

Please, spread the news to other believers and friends!
