The language of a christian should be remarkably different!
It should reverberate the articulate and meticulous nature of our God! A Christian should not speak carelessly. Christians should have good and non anti-God reasons for saying the things that they say.
As social beings, our input into social discourse is mostly got from the inputs we get from our social environment. Our store of words is essentially made up of what we hear others say and see others do, either through live motions or reported speech. Therefore, a lot of times, what a person is surrounded by is what he or she reproduces in speech.
To speak in God’s way, you must surround yourself with God’s channels of communication with you.
The Bible. Godly Music. Morally sound films. Light-giving books. Spirit-buoyed speeches.
Stop listening to those secular songs that projects messages of vanity, profanity and all forms of immorality. Yes, stop today!
Stop watching movies that are aimed at disseminating messages that are based on ungodly themes like magic, sexual perversion, obscene language and more.
Stop reading books that fill a person’s mind with utter darkness and slavery through messages based on sexual immorality, unforgiving vengeance, chronic materialism, and other ungodly themes.
Do not make hand gestures and other signs linked with satanism and profanity.
As a Christian, your way of life must not feature the above. Your language will be different and godliness-aligned when your inside is filled with God’s messages through the consumption of godly information via the Bible, Holy Spirit-inspired books, morally sound movies and other God-friendly media products.
It is also important that you continuously seek to engage like-minds in uplifting conversations. As a light, seek to speak to lights.
‘Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,’ Psalm 1:1(NIV)
A Christian must not sit around and imbibe godless chatter with those who swear and use profane language without care. No.
‘Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33(NIV)
Jesus Christ has rightly said:
‘A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.’ Luke 6:45(NIV)
Be full of light. Speak right. Speak Christ’s way. Speak Life.
Stay speech-clean and all-round holy!
