‘But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.’ 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NLT)
Even Satan disguises as an angel of light. Even Satan speaks!
Beware that you do not erroneously obey the devil, thinking that you are obeying God’s voice.
In the record of the Lord’s temptation seen in Matthew 4, it is shown that Satan came to speak to Jesus, prompting him to do certain things. However, the Lord knew that the voice was Satan’s,so, he(Jesus) was able to stand his ground against him(the devil).
There are some thoughts or instructions that might come into your mind that appear godly and good. You must take time to examine such thoughts and be sure that it is the Lord that is prompting you, not the devil.
At first, this practice of trying to establish a distinction among spirits might appear strange to you. Do not worry. As time goes on, it will become second-nature to you and you will easily decipher which voice is God’s and which is not.
Please note that you could hear God’s voice, Satan’s voice or the voice of your own thoughts. Be careful to know which is God’s.
HINT: GOD WILL NEVER CONTRADICT HIMSELF. HE WILL NOT GO AGAINST HIS OWN WORDS. SO, WHEN INSTRUCTIONS THAT NEGATE THE WORD OF GOD COMES INTO YOUR MIND, BEWARE!
‘Dear friends, do not believe everyone that claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.’ 1 John 4:1 (NLT)
How to test every spirit:
Examine what is being said in relation to the word of God. If there is any contradiction, then it is not from God.
God is truth!
His words brings light!
