Give thanks

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 118:1(NLT)

There is always a reason to thank God,season after season, his faithfulness is ever present. If the Lord had not being for us,where would we have been by now?

Or maybe you’re thinking ‘Why did I have to go through all I went through?’. Well, the truth is things could have been a lot worse if God had not intervened. Do you know the intensity of the battle that goes on every night while you sleep? Do you know the number of harmful microorganisms that abound in the things you consume? God has been your cleanser, your shield, your buckler. Even at times when you haven’t been faithful to him,he has remained steadfast, loving you all the way.

Not until you land that big contract or buy for that superb automobile, should you wait to thank him. THANK HIM NOW. That you can read this article tonight is something to be grateful for, that your body has effective coordination is a reason to be grateful, that you can pay your rent and feed your children, even as God helps you,is a reason to thank him.

He who has brought you this far will not abandon you. He has kept his word to you and he will keep it still. I know that there might be a lot that you’re still reaching for, yet,it’s best that you pause and just thank the father for those that he has helped you reach.

Simply thank God. Call him sweet names. Sing songs of praise to him in your local dialect. Shed tears of gratitude in his presence. Tell him you love him and mean it as you say it.

He is a great God. He is the miracle-worker.

Glory and honour be to him forever and ever and ever. Amen.

The blessed and the cursed.

‘But blessed are those who put their trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.’ Jeremiah 17:7(NLT)

With God,no pretence exists. Everything is lucid as he is the lord of all secrets. He can’t be deceived. He knows those who serve him in truth and those who trust in him truly. Mortal man may be deceived by the facade of religiosity and piety, but God cannot be deceived.

The scriptures spell it out very clearly here that those who are blessed are those whose trust reside in God. Those who are not moved by the existent lack in the physical, holding on their firm faith in the God they serve. Even when they are in the midst of abundance, they still do not trust the strength of their arms, rather they solely rely on the Lord’s support and guidance. Are you one of these people;the blessed?

I will hold on

The years fly by and the day stands still
Quiet in itself as I lay at rest
What the future holds, only you know
What tears can’t clear, only you can

Is there a better writer than you?
No there isn’t!
You penned this story of mine and perfect sure it is
Between your perfection and your grace
I stand justified
Despite my wrongs and failed choices
I stand purified

The weight of the expectations
The job of a generation
To blaze the trail and hold the ace
Leading a world of new and stamping the marks of vision
Yet deep down, only you know my soul cry

Help me trade the fears for your confidence
Help me trade the downs for your heights
Help me look into the future and wear that perfect smile
In the truth of your love and the counsel of your words

Man can’t fill this void, only you can
Man can’t dry this river, only you will
That I may live in the wonders of these dreams
And revel in the beauty of your glory
Lonely passage Lord it seems
And a unique path is all I see
Yet in the shadows I know your eyes watch still
In every stride I follow,I know your feet tread still
A long night the wait might seem
Lord,to hope,I’ll hold on still

HIS JOY COMES!

The Lights' Blog

My friend, don’t be discouraged! As long as you are with Christ, your joy is certain. Challenges will come, but don’t worry, you have the strongest personality ever to be on your side.JESUS IS LORD!

‘For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning.’ Psalm 30:5(NLT)

The stretch of your challenges might look unending, however, trust God because his joy will come. Your challenges will end, only God’s blessings in the various ways they come will never end. He sees,he knows ,he cares and he loves you.

The Lord said in Isaiah 49:15: ”Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!”

Our God is faithful. He doesn’t forsake his beloved. He cares for them. As long as you are…

Handling time well.

Image

I am really repentant over being late to church for service today. I had wanted to arrive earlier and be ready to be a part of the choir ministration. Regardless of whatever reasons I might have to table, I should have handled my timing better. Yet, I won’t hold on to blaming as if I control all things because I don’t, God does. I am repentant because I want to be more timely in the future. This feeling of repentance has led to a new drive in me to be better at handling time in all areas of my life- church, school, career and all other fora that I will find myself in.

‘For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.’ Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT)

Do you constantly find yourself behind time? Almost always arriving late? Well, the word for change is…….plan! Yes, plan. Actively schedule time for everything you want to do in the run-up to the event in focus. There is always this lazy feeling of ‘there is still time’ which has to be dropped today. Do away with it completely and rather adopt the motto of ‘always on time’.

Getting regularly late to appointments gives a negative tag that should not be found on Christians. I was there in that league of almost always late, but I decided that today ends it. I love singing and I would have loved to be on-time in the father’s presence for service, only to find myself late again. Deep down, I knew this had to stop. Why? The simple truth is this: Habitual lateness can ruin the best of opportunities!

As the bible verse above reads, there is truly time for everything. There is time to leave for your appointment. It’s better to endure one long hour of sitting before the commencement of an appointment than to come panting in, an hour behind schedule.

Lateness starts subconsciously as an habit, which if not curbed, grows into a culture. It must be stopped!

So how…………….?

1. Pray to God for a change of attitude towards to the use of time.

2. Plan actively- When to leave for your appointment and all else that comes before your scheduled departure for the appointment.

3. Drop the tagline ‘There is still time’- the truth is, time never stops, so you have to be on it, move with it.

4.Write down your new mission statement of ‘Never late again’

5. Stay committed to changing your attitude towards time.

The truth is, since it took a while before lateness became a culture, it might take a while to also break it off completely. You must however walk in the confidence that God is helping you even as you’re determined to become a more time-conscious and punctual person.

Stay blessed, stay on-time!

Two roads: Which to take.

Image

One road is wide and offers enough room to roam, the other is narrow and a focus on the destination is therefore best while on it.

Naturally, one would like to have the room to roam, explore and have adventures, but before one concludes on which to choose, the big question to answer is, where do the roads lead?

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 (NLT)

The narrow way leads to heaven(life)! The broad way leads to hell(death)!

The christian life is one that requires a lot of discipline and self-denial. Dying to self that Christ might live through one,  forgoing the invitation to roam in sin. No to sinful music, No to sinful dances, No to sinful gatherings, No to sinful practices. Being different and focused on the destination, travelling on that road travelled by few. Narrowing down one’s goals and desires to Christ’s will- that is it, that’s the sacrifice!

A lot of people want to explore without boundaries, no restrictions- such people will find regarding someone else as a determiner in terms of their freedom unacceptable. They simply want to live, run and rule their own lives all by themselves . Quite a number of these people find themselves on that broad way, the one that leads to hell!

God doesn’t force anyone to travel on the narrow way, he has given us free-wills and hearts to discern and choose which road we want to follow.

Travelling on the narrow road right now might seem tasking, but in the end, the reward will be much more than substantial. Journeying on the broad way now might seem enjoyable- parties, philandering, adultery, fraud and the likes, however, the reward in the end is an agonising, bitter and unending one.

This scripture paints a perfect picture: “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT)

If you realise that you’ve been travelling down the wrong road of sin and want to switch roads right now, please pray this :

‘Lord Jesus, I apologize for my wrongs. I am sorry, please forgive me. Help me off this broad road of sin unto the narrow path of righteousness. I acknowledge you as my Lord and saviour, dear son of God. Thank you for saving me.’

PLEASE STAY ON THE NARROW WAY, CHOOSE LIFE!

Fw:The scientific death of Jesus

THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS
For the next 60 seconds, set aside whatever You’re doing and take this opportunity! Let’s see if Satan Can stop this.

… … … THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS

At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to death .

At that time, crucifixion was the “worst” death. Only the worst criminals were condemned to be crucified; yet it was even more dreadful for Jesus. Unlike other criminals condemned to death by crucifixion,Jesus was to be nailed to the cross by His hands and feet.

Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long, the nails were driven into His wrist. Not into His palms as it’s commonly portrayed.
There’s a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder. The Roman guards knew that when the nails were being hammered into the wrist, that tendon would tear and break; forcing Jesus to use His back
Muscles to support himself so that He could breath.

Both of His feet were nailed together. Thus,He was forced to support Himself on the single nail that impaled His feet to the cross. Jesus could not support himself with His legs because of the pain;so He was forced to alternate between arching His back then using his legs so as to continue to breath.

Imagine the struggle, the pain, the suffering and the courage.
Jesus endured this reality for over 3 hours.

Yes,Over 3 hours!
Can you imagine this kind of suffering?
Few minutes before He died,He stopped bleeding. He was simply pouring water from his wounds.

From common images,we see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound to His side… But do we realize His wounds were actually made in His body? A hammer driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped and an even larger nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear.

But before the nails and the spear,Jesus was whipped and beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body. The beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp.
(Most men would not have survived this torture)

He had no more blood to bleed out, only water poured from His wounds.
The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters (just less than a gallon) of blood.

Jesus poured all 3.5 liters of His blood; He had three nails hammered into His members; a crown of thorns on His head and beyond that, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear through His ribs..

All these without mentioning the humiliation He suffered after carrying His own cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in His face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, only for its higher part, where His hands were nailed).

Jesus had to endure this experience to open the
Gates of Heaven so that you can have free access to God.

So that your sins could be “washed” away. All of them, with no exception!
Don’t ignore this situation.

JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOU!

He died for you!
It is easy to pass jokes or foolish photos by e-mail, but when it comes to God, sometimes you feel ashamed to forward to others because you are worried of what they may think about you.

God has plans for you, show all your friends what He experienced to save you.
Now think about this! May God bless your life!

60 seconds with God…

For the next 60 seconds, set aside what you’re doing and take this opportunity! Let’s see if Satan can stop this.

All you have to do is:

1. Simply Pray for the person who sent this message to
You

2.Then, send this message to people.. The more the better.

3. People will Pray for you and you will make many people to pray to God for other people.

4. Take a moment to appreciate the power of God in your life, for doing what pleases Him.

If you are ashamed to do this, please, follow Jesus’ instructions.
He said (Matthew 10:32 & 33): “Everyone therefore who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before My Father in heaven; but who so ever denies Me before others, I will deny before my Father in heaven.

He is risen!

A worship song’s lyrics go thus:

He is Lord, He is Lord

A worship song’s lyrics go thus:

He is Lord, he is Lord

Amen, he has risen from the dead

He is Lord, every knee shall bow

Every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord

Great is our God! He is truly the Lord of all!

Let’s pray:

By the power of resurrection, may every good thing in your life receive life again in Jesus name

As the Lord conquered death, so shall every limiting force in your life be conquered in Jesus name

Every stone rolled across the door of your glory can be rolled back today in Jesus name

May your helpers come running to help revive every dead venture of goodness in your life in Jesus name

Good news shall find you

May that dead womb receive life right now in the name of Jesus,

May every unyielding force militating against your success bow to the superiority of Christ today in Jesus name

As for every helper who has forgotten you, may there be a divine remembrance and reconnection of you to such persons in the name of Jesus

As the death of Christ has brought us life, so may your family bubble with eternal life in the name of Jesus

Sickness in your life shall die

Favour shall become synonymous with you in the name of Jesus

Every battle going on in the spiritual realm over your life, may the Lord of the battle step in and give you victory today in Jesus name

Go and succeed

Go and prosper

Go and flourish

Go and fulfil destiny

Go and do exploits

Go and possess your possessions in the name of Jesus

Go and live, live and keep living, even as Christ has brought you eternal life.

It shall be well with you now and always.

In the name of the Lord Jesus.

Beloved, it takes faith in God to get answers to these prayers, please believe as you say them. Also, you must live in holiness before God as well, before answers can be gotten.

Live for God, live for life, live in the blessed Lord that arose today those many years ago and is still alive today and will still be living forevermore!

Tell someone else about him, spread his love and continue to triumph in Jesus name.

God bless you!

He is risen!

Halleluyah!

On a day like today, the day holy, royal blood was shed, all words fail.

Today, a King was slain to ransom slaves.

No words can truly express the gratitude and thankfulness due, but I will try…

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for all You did and for all You gave.

We love You.
