The blessed and the cursed

‘But blessed are those who put their trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.’ Jeremiah 17:7(NLT)

With God,no pretence exists. Everything is lucid as he is the lord of all secrets. He can’t be deceived. He knows those who serve him in truth and those who trust in him truly. Mortal man may be deceived by the facade of religiosity and piety, but God cannot be deceived.

The scriptures spell it out very clearly here that those who are blessed are those whose trust reside in God. Those who are not moved by the existent lack in the physical, holding on their firm faith in the God they serve. Even when they are in the midst of abundance, they still do not trust the strength of their arms, rather they solely rely on the Lord’s support and guidance. Are you one of these people;the blessed?

‘This is what the LORD says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD.”
Jeremiah 18:5(NLT)
Some boast very carelessly of their human connections and material possessions, as if they have forgotten that the God of heaven is the only one is to be wholly trusted and relied on. They plan for tomorrow and even years to come, not regarding the lord in their plans, as if they can sustain their own lives by their own might. Those who do that are cursed! In a way, they practice idolatry. They trust humans instead of God, making those humans their ‘gods’.

Christians should never be caught in this web! We are blessed in Christ Jesus and we should stay so!
We should never repose our confidence in man’s ability, but in God’s faithfulness, not forgetting that even the humans that seem trustworthy have their very existence dependent on the will of God.

If you find yourself on the side of those who make humans the pinnacle of their trust instead of God, you could ask for forgiveness right now, pray that Jesus Christ cleanses with his blood and make you new again, then make up your mind to place your trust in God alone.

Always trust God and stay blessed!
