Hello friend, hope you’re keeping your head up whatever life’s weather is around you and trusting your friend and saviour,Jesus Christ, never to abandon you? If you are not, please do because you are bigger than those seemingly insurmountable challenges that lay around as the person who lives in you is greater and stronger than any trial this world could hold.
‘Even when I walk through the darkest valley,I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.’ Psalm 23:4(NLT)
David declared this confidently about the God he knows so well, the same God that you serve! You should declare this as well in faith! God will NEVER abandon you.He is always interested in your well-being as his child. Never forget his love and his faithfulness.
‘When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.’ Psalm 43:2(NLT)
He has spoken and he is faithful to fulfil whatever promises he has made. If he said this to Israel, believe by faith that he will do the same for you.
In those straits of being-next-to-bankrupt, loneliness or whatever unfavourable circumstance might show up on life’s horizon, you are not alone, Jesus is with you.
Lord,help me stand
Help me hold on to this treasure
This faith you have given to me
This lifeline of the future
A time to come in a place so serene and stress-free
The number of my bones you know
The weakness of my flesh you see
I stand by the power of your spirit
And by the grace of your being
I’ve not walked through this life before
You know where the ground is slippery
And where the pitfalls are
Please, plant my feet on your rock so solid
Place my head in your bosom and help me relish the warmth of your embrace
No one can help me if you don’t
And in your love,I know you will
God,I look to you
Breath by myself,I can’t
Stay right by myself,I can’t
What can I do alone?
Oh,yeah, make a choice
To choose between this and that
Yet without you, I will always end up
Making the wrong choice
Even the future I walk towards
Only you know the details
Of who I will be, where I will end up
My family, career, my service to you
Only you know all
How foolish for me to try keep a clean sheet by myself
Wrong things pop up in my mind
I get entangled in the ropes of curiosity
I’m blind without your light
I get passionate and raise my voice when I shouldn’t
I ask the wrong questions and conclude on wrong notes, without you
Yet,your love endures
Your patience keeps on keeping on
When I annoy you,you don’t destroy me
Even when I disrespect you, you overlook my errors
Only you are holy
Only you are true
And when I try never to stumble
Please help me remember that only you are perfect
Yes,Lord,that only you are perfect
‘This is my command: Love each other.’ John 15:17(NLT)
If anyone was wondering why it is so imperative for we,christians, to show love, the answer is clearly spelt out here in the verse above. Love is central to our existence as Christians. God is love, the basis of our salvation is love, our continued existence is love and Christ being our role model is strong enough a reason for us to love even as he does.
The kind of love we should show is sacrificial, not selfish. It’s a love that places the welfare of others on the rung of utmost priority. A love that goes out of its comfort zone to make others comfortable in the light of the Lord’s truth.
We could safely say that our love here is that which gives more service that it is served, a life that is devoid of ego and is more focused on the well being of whoever is concerned.
We don’t have to wait till we are billionaires or landlords of estates before we can afford to show this kind of love- we have all we need,a heart that is willing and a grace from above that is abundant.
Those who love the Lord obey his commandments and those who obey his commandments spread his love.
Be a lover!
‘But blessed are those who put their trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.’ Jeremiah 17:7(NLT)
With God,no pretence exists. Everything is lucid as he is the lord of all secrets. He can’t be deceived. He knows those who serve him in truth and those who trust in him truly. Mortal man may be deceived by the facade of religiosity and piety, but God cannot be deceived.
The scriptures spell it out very clearly here that those who are blessed are those whose trust reside in God. Those who are not moved by the existent lack in the physical, holding on their firm faith in the God they serve. Even when they are in the midst of abundance, they still do not trust the strength of their arms, rather they solely rely on the Lord’s support and guidance. Are you one of these people;the blessed?
‘This is what the LORD says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD.”
Some boast very carelessly of their human connections and material possessions, as if they have forgotten that the God of heaven is the only one is to be wholly trusted and relied on. They plan for tomorrow and even years to come, not regarding the lord in their plans, as if they can sustain their own lives by their own might. Those who do that are cursed! In a way, they practice idolatry. They trust humans instead of God, making those humans their ‘gods’.
Christians should never be caught in this web! We are blessed in Christ Jesus and we should stay so!
We should never repose our confidence in man’s ability, but in God’s faithfulness, not forgetting that even the humans that seem trustworthy have their very existence dependent on the will of God.
If you find yourself on the side of those who make humans the pinnacle of their trust instead of God, you could ask for forgiveness right now, pray that Jesus Christ cleanses with his blood and make you new again, then make up your mind to place your trust in God alone.
Always trust God and stay blessed!
Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Genesis 1:28(NLT)
The key words to be dwelled on today are fruitfulness and multiplication.
If you take time to consider the how many the grains of sand are, or the variety of living things that abound on earth, you will realise that God is a person of abundance. He does exceedingly great things in miraculous ways.
As you are made in his image, know that that same manner of God’s abundance used in creation does not exclude you. He doesn’t want your decrease. This is evidently clear in how growth works: as you grow, the number of your body cells increase, so does your weight and even age!
Jesus said in John 15:2(NLT): ‘He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.’
This is even more evidence that God wants abundance from and for you, not decrease nor scarcity!
You could go through patches in life that will challenge your faith, please hold on to the truth in God and keep confessing abundance even in the midst of scarcity.
God wants the best for you!
Your God owns every way
His light brigthens the day
His peace in your heart is to stay
Friends drift away and you’re left aloft
Not to worry, your strive won’t come to nought
Over and under, all,God sees from above
You have a dream,yes a vision
Does it look hard?Don’t worry, the Lord is your salvation
As you’re with him, and his lead you trust, be glad
For glorious is your destination
