‘After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what will be our proud reward and crown as we stand before our Lord Jesus when he returns? It is you! Yes, you are our pride and joy.’ 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 (NLT)
Another year to live, a great platform to shine for the Lord. Make up your mind to have a great impact on at least one person’s life this year by leading them to the love at the cross and telling them about the saviour. If for Paul and his friends, the souls the Lord helped them win could be their pride and joy, the same could apply to you. Let the soul(s) you win for Christ by his grace this year be your pride and joy.
Watch out for someone and preach the gospel to them. Admonish them to turn away from their bad ways and embrace the new life in Christ, then you follow them up, encouraging them as a friend and sharing the saviour’s love with them ceaselessly. This in itself is being fruitful as a Christian because your own soul that has been saved has been instrumental to another soul being saved. This brings the illustration of the vine and the branches the Lord was talking about in John 15 to mind. The Lord said this:
“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.’’ John 15:1-2 (NLT)
May you and I not be cut off by the father this year and even throughout our stays here on earth in Jesus name. Live for God, bear fruits. Do not make earthly possessions and achievements your pride and joy, rather, let the souls you win for the Lord, as he enables you, be your pride and joy as you watch them grow in the Lord and do great exploits to his glory.
Happy New Year to you my friend, keep shining for the Lord.
