Too much of which?

Sometimes, some humans assume they know so much that they become slaves of their own knowledge. The  probable realities of their assumed fears make them TOO SCARED to believe and accept THE WONDERFUL LIFE being offered by GOD,THE CREATOR OF ALL. They get too scared because they know so much about EVIL,yet so little about GOOD and how GOOD GOD IS.

So friend, don’t be caught in this sort of quagmire. Whatever knowledge you might be getting today, make sure that it is the GOOD knowledge of GOD and his AWESOME ways because that is a potent key to a VICTORIOUS LIFE rid of FEAR.

Keep the rest, beat the stress (Part 1)

‘Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” ‘ Matthew 11:28(NLT)

Sometimes, the weight of expectations and responsibilities might wear one out and if support doesn’t come quickly enough, one might buckle under the pressure.

However, Jesus has given us a guaranteed assurance of rest if we go to him. Therefore, we need to go to him and let him ease our burdens. With him, rest is sure and a more fulfilling life is possible.

Practical steps to get the ‘rest’:

1. Accept that you need help with your burdens.

2. Go to Jesus Christ  and pray to him for help with your burdens(mention them).

3. (i)Confess and accept him as your Lord and personal saviour(for those not born-again yet).

(ii) Confess and reaffirm his Lordship over your life(for the redeemed).

4. Thank him for the answer to the prayer and praise him in advance, believing that he has done it for you.

5. Keep believing: Don’t lose faith in God.Never doubt that he has done it. Keep confessing your rest in him.

Your ceaseless faith in God will help you focus more on Jesus Christ, who gives rest, and not on your burdens. This way, you get to keep the rest and beat the stress.

God be praised!

FINISHING WELL

It is important for you to finish well,my friend. Starting well is good, but finishing well is the best.

‘Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 1 Corinthians 9:24(NLT)

You are on a sojourn through this world with heaven being the ultimate destination as a Christian. Nothing should be strong enough to take you off-course because he who dwells in you is greater than he who dwells in the world. Everything you need to succeed on your sojourn is in God,all you have to do is to make him your centre of focus. Pray to him for strength when you feel tired. Always pray to him for guidance. The Lord said in John 4:14 that the water he gives becomes a fresh bubbling spring within those who drink it.It gives eternal life. So,my friend,Jesus is always there to give you strength and freshen you when you feel tired.

To succeed in a race, you need discipline. The discipline to do the right things at the right time. The discipline to prioritize rightly. Beloved, it is very crucial that you stay focused on your destination. This world is transient.Never let its glamour distract you and make you derail. No extravagance in the world can be compared to the splendour in the eternal kingdom of our father. Having a relationship with Christ is good, however, staying with him to the end is the best for you.

Run this race to eternity to win.Make up your mind to finish well. Always pray to the Lord for strength and trust him to help you.

Tomorrow is Sunday. Praise the father in church like you’ve never done before.

Stay blessed.

Wisdom and the future.

‘In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.’   Proverbs 24:14(NLT)

If you’ve been wondering how one can find a sure link to a bright future, then put your mind at ease because the link has been revealed in the verse above. The sure link is WISDOM. If you find wisdom, then you have found the link! So,find wisdom!

Wisdom is so crucial to having a successful life-prosperity,impact,fruitfulness,fulfilment of one’s divine purpose, etc. Without wisdom, success is elusive. With wisdom, success is inevitable.

Now,what is wisdom? Who can be said to be wise?

Wisdom is the principal thing. It is the most important entity you need to function effectively if you are to have a bright future. And according to Proverbs 9:10, the fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. So,to begin the acquisition of wisdom, you have to start to fear the Lord as from this moment forward. In essence, you must begin to regard the Lord as the most important personality in all your dealings. Respect and obey him wholeheartedly. Study his words and commit them to heart. Never take decisions without consulting him, always ask him for direction. If you consistently do these, then you are living in the fear of the Lord. And as you continue to live in his fear, you’ll get wiser because the fear of the Lord births wisdom. The wise fears the Lord.

The decisions you make today will either have positive or negative impacts on your future. The fear of the Lord equips you with good judgement and the ability to make the right decisions which will ultimately have positive impacts on your future, making it bright and you, successful.

Therefore the summary of the connection between Wisdom and the future is  ‘get wisdom, have a bright future.’

Always remember that wisdom is in God and his fear is the foundation of it.

Stay blessed.

Always be in check.

‘A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.’  Proverbs 25:26(NLT)

There is a high level of composure and self-control expected of you as a christian. Anything short of this high level is dishonourable.

My friend,as a christian, you should be a great example for others to follow. As the Lord said in Matthew 5:26, you should let your good works shine before men that they may give glory to your father in heaven. The more of a good and commendable example you are to people in shining the light of Christ, the more the glory you bring to your father in heaven through your lifestyle.

As part of your good works, please take SELF-CONTROL very seriously. Without self-control,one is open to the attack of the enemy. This attack could be in form of ridicule, physical assault or even mortal death. No matter where you find yourself, whatever the situation might be,never be out of check.

Let the Holy spirit be your guide. Being in tune with his leading and wholesome obedience to his instructions will help you make the right decisions and stay in control of your emotions in your relationship with people. Never let your reaction be based on what others do to you. People could provoke you intentionally, do not be hasty to react. You are are a  heir of the heavenly King,do not let the flesh dictate your response.Rather, base your reactions on the instructions in the Bible-the words of God. The more you base your reactions on God’s instructions, the less the tendency of you being out of control of your emotions in your relationship with people.

So friend,be in check, stay in Christ and stay blessed.

How was your day?

When your enemies fall………

‘Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall; don’t be happy when they stumble. For the Lord will be displeased with you and will turn his anger away from them.’ Proverbs 24:17-18(NLT)

My friend,if you never knew this before, now you know!As a child of God,you should never rejoice at your enemies’ fall.Don’t be secretly vengeful by being happy when evil things happen to them. Whatever might be happening to them, make God your central focus. Pray for those who persecute you and love your enemies,as the Lord Jesus Christ has instructed in Matthew 5:44.

To be able to do this, you have to be a person of the spirit. A worshiper of the living God who worships in spirit and in truth. Walking in the spirit will enable you to be in the right frame of mind to heed the Lord’s instructions and live a successful life.

Do not displease God by rejoicing at your enemy’s fall because displeasing him might ultimately put you at the risk of perdition,if you do not repent.

May your lifestyle continue to  bring the Lord pleasure in Jesus name.

The end of the wicked

‘For evil people have no future; the light of the wicked will be snuffed out.’
Proverbs 24:20(NLT)

Friend,evil people won’t last forever.As for you,once you’re in Christ,eternity is sure in heaven.
So,don’t be scared of the evil ones because you have the greatest being,God,living in you,as long as you stay wholly obedient to him.
The verse above was brought up during a Bible study in church today and it’s imperative that I share it with you.Whatever the evil ones do,as long they persist in their evil and do not repent, they are doomed. They have no future!Their light will be snuffed out! They will be destroyed!
So,should any evil one be trying to make things hard for you,do not panic, they and their deeds won’t last forever.Their doomed end is sure if they do not repent.
So,stay with your God,he is able to deliver you in ways beyond your comprehension.
God be praised!

Take heed!

‘Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough?’
1 Corinthians 5:6(NLT)

Once you notice immorality of any kind, get rid of it! Don’t even have a second thought, just get of it because the best for you is to be without any kind of it!
I was discussing with a friend today and I learnt something very crucial from the discussion: When the devil seeks to cause a person to backslide, he doesn’t usually take that person from 100 percent to 50 percent in an instant, lest the person heed the signs of regress and repent.Rather,he takes the person from 100 percent to 99.9 percent, then further down if the person doesn’t notice the change in the level of his/her dedication to Jesus Christ. So,he continues the gradual depletion until the person is very down before realisation of regress sets in.

Do not give the devil an inch, lest he takes a kilometer. Always be at alert.Heed the warning in 1 Thessalonians 5:22,stay away from every kind of evil.
Beloved, your soul is very precious and God loves you more than you know. Two of the best things you could ever do for yourself are to ‘watch’ and ‘pray’ without ceasing.
Stay blessed.

Let’s turn to God.

It is now a regarded as a norm to be outrightly rude in the name of being assertive. Long gone are the days when a sizeable proportion of the young revere the old as a sign of respect for age. It is not uncommon to see young folks slandering and bad-mouthing the elderly all in the name of having fun,an instance being the story of an american bus monitor who was bullied by some school kids on a bus trip home from school. The aberrational social vices are now the celebrated social practices among quite a number of the young ones.Criticize talks about smoking, drinking and sexual immorality, you’d probably be told it’s no big deal!
The question is,where did it all go wrong? From home,  at school or the personal disposition of the young folks themselves? These amongst many other should be the questions running through the mind of whoever is genuinely concerned about this present anomaly.
If I were asked to proffer a solution, I would say, let’s turn back to God with all our hearts and minds and lets see things take the turn of good havens.

”Then if my people who are called by name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NLT)

Goals Alive

As a young and active person, one usually projects a lot of ambition in the hope of a bright and stellar future. However,it is irefutably true, that a lot of these lofty aspirations fall by the wayside with time.

Distractions and challenges might, and often times, interfere with these great aspirations  as one grows. One can avoid or overcome these interferences ,though!

So now,how do you keep those goals alive and active?

1.Make God your pilot, and you will never miss the mark.
2.Explore your potentials and highlight your most distinct skills, through God’s filter.
3.Develop these skills and become comfortably attuned to them.
4.Steadily and patiently, make your way to the top of your field through training and re-training.
5.Constantly check your activities and see if you’re fulfilled or not with what you’re doing.

As time goes on,you can take stock of your progress and you will be surprised at how far you have come!

Remember,it doesn’t matter what your present situation is,because no matter how dark a night is,it will never stop a new dawn from breaking! You have to stand up and possess that brilliant future with your action and reliance on Christ Jesus.

”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways, acknowledge him and he will make your path straight’
‘Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)
